Cincinnati has been the site of many beginnings. The Cincinnati Red Stockings became the world's first professional baseball team in 1869, and major league baseball’s first night game was played here. It was the first to build and own a major public railroad. Cincinnati is also where America’s first municipal fire department was established in 1853. Today, Cincinnati is still experiencing firsts, and Cole + Russell Architects is excited to participate in several progressive projects reshaping the city. The School for Creative and Performing Arts is under construction and when complete will be the nation’s first publicly funded K-12 school devoted to the arts. Cincinnati Fire No. 9 was dedicated last month and is the first LEED Registered project for the city. And, The Banks will break ground in April, leading the way to create a one-of-a-kind mixed-use development along the Ohio riverfront and a front door to the city. |
