FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Luxury Living On the Rise [Printer Friendly Version] Cole + Russell Architects, Inc. (C+RA), unveils the design of One River Plaza, a distinctive, new mixed-use development to be built along the Ohio River that will dramatically change the skyline of downtown Cincinnati and add new vitality to the riverfront. The dual tower design encompasses a nine- and 12 -story luxury condominium that directly connect with the riverfront park system, the downtown core and the pedestrian bridge crossing over to Northern Kentucky’s entertainment district. The property will contain 146 private luxury residences of one to four bedrooms (1,230-sf – 5,390-sf), award-winning restaurants and street level retail/commercial spaces. The lower levels of the buildings incorporate brick to engage and embrace the heritage of the city architecture. As the buildings ascend, the use of glass opens the buildings up to the river and the expansive views of the surrounding area. Two sloped building caps reach out toward the Ohio River and create a dramatic architectural expression seen from a distance, especially at night when up lit. An integration of art and architecture, world-renowned Sculptor Albert Paley has been commissioned to create a metalwork design for the project. Paley envisions a significant sculpture between the two high-rise buildings that would become a landmark for the complex and stand three stories tall. Paley has completed more than 45 major works nationwide and is currently completing a steel chapel gate for the Washington National Cathedral. C+RA is the lead architect for the project being developed by the Miller-Valentine Group. The architectural team also includes RTKL Associates of Chicago. Groundbreaking of the project is scheduled for spring with occupancy by 2009. About Cole + Russell Architects, Inc. # # # Contacts: Karyn Enzweiler Shannon H. Duffy, AIA |
