C+RA's Commercial Design Growth Prompts the Creation
of a Sixth Market Group [Printer Friendly Version]
Cole + Russell Architect’s (C+RA) has established a sixth design group—the Retail Design Group—as an outgrowth of the firm’s success in commercial design and dedication to better service the architectural needs of this diverse marketplace.
C+RA’s Commercial Design Group originally focused on all commercial products. With the addition of the new group, the Retail Design Group will concentrate on multi-unit retail products and continue to serve such existing clients as Walgreens, Kroger and La-Z-Boy. The Commercial Design Group will continue to design custom commercial/retail buildings, lifestyle centers, corporate office buildings and mixed-use developments.
“Our consistent workload was close to equally divided between custom and roll-out commercial products,” said President + CEO David Arends, AIA, OAA, “which was a clear indication that we had the book of business, experience and profitability to sustain two groups. Plus, this will allow us to further specialize within the marketplace and offer our clients even more personalized expertise.” Last year, C+RA’s Commercial Design Group experienced 47 percent growth from the previous year.
William Hollenkamp, AIA, has been promoted from project manager to serve as the Commercial Design Group Director. Hollenkamp has over 15 years of experience and has played a key role on the Wright Summit Office Park in Fort Wright, Kentucky, and mixed-use developments in Miami Township and Beavercreek, Ohio. Scott Csendes, AIA, will continue serving in the group director role for the Retail Design Group.
